T.O. just signed a $2 million, one-year contract with the Bengals. He can earn another $2 million in incentives.

What does this mean to the offense and the Bengals?

The world.  And maybe a Super Bowl title.

Look, I understand the following: T.O. has lost a step, he has had some drops, and I think he may have had some problems in the past with other QBs.

Nevertheless, T.O. still averaged 15.1 yards a catch on an awful Bills team last year.  And Carson Palmer worked out with T.O. for the past two weeks and he was the one who told the team to sign him because he saw that T.O. can still run.  According to Cincinnati Enquirer writer Joe Reedy, “Last year, Owens had 10 receptions of 25 yards or more including five that went for over 40. The Bengals as a team had 12 and five respectively.”

In a division where the top two cornerbacks are already on the Bengals team, I’m smelling blood. The Ravens’ cornerback situation is a mess, the Steelers have just average corners, and the Browns just suck. Okay, they drafted a good rookie cornerback in Joe Haden, but that’s it.

The only thing that will stop the Bengals offense this year will the offensive line. That’s it. If they can learn to pass block better, and if the running game can keep producing some yards, this may be the best… Bengals… offense… ever.  Think about: Carson Palmer will have Chad on one side, T.O. on the other, Antonio Bryant in the slot, and Jermaine Gresham running down the middle.  You can’t double team everybody.  Someone will get open.  This will also mean that there will be giant running lanes for Cedric Benson.  The Bengals offense could be unstoppable… I hope.

Only time will tell.

T.O. and Chad Ochocinco are together. Two very good friends, and two head cases. It should be an interesting season, to say the least.
