According to ESPN and profootballtalk.com, the Rams are no longer pursuing Terrell Owens, which leaves…
Your Cincinnati Bengals!
According to owner Mike Brown, the ball is in T.O.’s court and all he needs to do is sign the dotted line.
Excitement!
My last blog I blithely said, “why the hell not” with signing T.O. I still stand by that. Yes, T.O. drops the ball occasionally. Yes, there may be more egos in the Bengals locker room than a Jersey Shore episode. Yes, T.O. is old and he may “stifle” the development of the younger receivers.
Still…
Hey, knowing Mike Brown, the Bengals are probably going to get him on the cheap, and this signing indicates that the Bengals are going balls-to-the-wall for a Super Bowl ring. It does make me wonder about how they feel about Antonio Bryant and his knee, after they signed him to a 4-year, $28 million deal. But Marvin Lewis said Bryant is fine.
It will be interesting to see how all of these egos will interact… Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, and Antonio Bryant… This could be the Bengals over the top, or it could cause them to implode.
Obviously I’m going for the former.
Go ahead and sign the dotted line, T.O.! Welcome to Cincy!
