Well, I guess the Bengals weren’t too high on WR Dez Bryant. They had the opportunity to draft him and they took TE Jermaine Gresham instead. Yeah, we needed a tight end, but TE Chase Coffman is still on the roster and he’s got some talent, even though he didn’t play last year.
I guess the Bengals are just going to assume that they’re not going to sign tight ends Reggie Kelly or JP Foschi and just go with Coffman, Gresham, and (prolong and sad sigh) Daniel “These hands are made for blocking, not catching, Stupid!” Coats.
As I said before, I’m okay with the Gresham pick, but, man, how do you pass up the best receiver in the draft? Of course, Denver did the same thing and drafted Demaryius Thomas over Bryant, and THEN they pull the shocker of the draft by acquiring Tim Tebow. That is a bigger head scratcher than Julia Roberts marrying Lyle Lovett, especially with Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy on the board. But, whatever, man. They’re not my team.
MY team, however, picked a good, but not great, tight end, and we passed on a potential star in Dez Bryant. Maybe Cincy would rather have one of the wide receivers that will be in the second round… like Mardy Gilyard or Golden Tate. Ah, the intrigue.
We’ll see what happens on day two.
