Gear Up For Bengals Football

A Texas-Sized Preview of the Texans-Bengals Game

Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco runs 21 yards against the Ravens in Baltimore

Okay, this might not be a “Texas-sized” preview, because I’ve got a ton of stuff to do today, but I have a few thoughts for the game. First off, I want to publicly thank Chad Ochocinco for teaming up with Motorola to buy 1,200 tickets and giving them away to fans. The blackout has been officially lifted!  How can anyone hate Chad now? The Bengals also gave away 500 tickets to military families. I can still hate Mike Brown, but not the rest of the Bengals organization. Am I taking advantage of the free tickets? Not the ones that Chad is giving away. My second public thanks goes to my Uncle Mike who is giving me two sweet suite tickets to the game on Sunday. It’s going to be fun! I’m going to three straight home games! Nice!

As for the actual game, I have a good feeling that the Bengals will win. After their mettle has been tested the last five games, how couldn’t they pull this one off? I know, I know, anything can happen. The Texans are a good team, but they are inconsistent (okay, okay, so are the Bengals. Yeesh). Here are the keys to winning the game against the Texans:

1) Andre Johnson (duh): He has become one of the best WRs in the league. Did you see that play on Sunday when he literally bulldozed three opposing players to score a TD? That’s just stupid. The Bengals have been shutting down opposing team’s number one receivers this year, thanks to Jonathon Joseph and Leon Hall. Of course, I don’t think we’ll shut Johnson down, but we have to contain him if we are going to win.
2) Other Texans wide receivers: The WRs who HAVE hurt us this year have been the number three receivers and TE. Look at Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Their number threes killed us, but we still won. Nevertheless, we can’t let a no-name like Kevin Walter kill us.
3) Defensive end Mario Williams: is a beast of a man. We need him to stay away from Palmer. I hope our tackles can stop him.
4) Matt Schaub: we need to rattle his brain a few times.
5) Laveranues Coles: Not only does the spelling of your first name not make sense, but the Bengals WR has done jack poop for us this year. He needs to have a break out game.

As long as the Bengals offense doesn’t decide to take a day off, and our defense remains consistent in applying pressure, they should come out with a W. Let’s go Bengals!
